Want to submit to Quilt?

Here’s everything you need to know.

Submissions to Quilt are open to undergraduate students across all disciplines at Queen’s.

Academic submissions must use any piece of media (books, poetry, an art exhibit, films, music albums, etc) as the primary touchstone of analysis/reflection. We accept both personal style and scholarly formatted essays: both styles of submissions must not exceed 2500 words.

Creative pieces must be under 2000 words at the absolute maximum. Aim for 1500 as a safe maximum, but overall, try to keep your creative work short, clean, and graceful. We accept everything good.

To avoid copyright or Turnitin complications, we ask that all submissions be limited to graded and returned works, recreationally composed works (i.e., not produced on commission or under employment), and previously unpublished works.

Personal/Scholarly essays that critically engage with media (2500 words max).

Prose, poetry, and beyond (2000 words max).

We are now ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS for Quilt Volume 3. We are looking for Academic & Creative work—please submit!
